National site selectors to visit Metro Denver for Site Selection Conference

The Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation (Metro Denver EDC) will host eight national site selectors for a familiarization tour of the region during its annual Metro Denver Site Selection Conference, Sept. 16-20, 2015.

The conference is one of the Metro Denver EDC's most effective strategies for marketing Metro Denver's business attributes to site selectors and corporate real estate professionals, the key advisors to Fortune 1000 companies in corporate relocations and expansions that bring new jobs and investment to our region.

"While Metro Denver is capturing global attention for its top business rankings, job growth, and economic performance, perhaps our biggest story to share with these location advisors is how we do business in Metro Denver, regionally, with broad infrastructure development and passionate, engaged leaders,” said Tom Clark, CEO of the Metro Denver EDC.

Metro Denver's economic development partners and investors will host the visiting site consultants during a whirlwind three days of tours and meetings showcasing Metro Denver's companies and industries, talent, real estate, and cultural amenities.

First on the agenda on Wed., Sept. 16, Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper will host a private meeting with the site selectors to discuss the advantages of doing business in Colorado. Area business and economic development leaders will then join the group for a reception and dinner at Balistreri Vineyards.

Activities on the site selectors' agenda on Thursday, Sept. 17 include:

  • An economic briefing by Metro Denver EDC CEO Tom Clark and a Talent Pipeline Panel Discussion with representatives from Metropolitan State University of Denver, the University of Colorado Denver, and the University of Denver.
  • A helicopter tour of the region, highlighting light-rail expansion, real estate developments, federal laboratories, and major employment centers.
  • Conversations with Metro Denver business leaders at the Innovation Center in Longmont and the Charles Schwab Lone Tree Campus, including representatives from Charles Schwab, Google, Level 3 Communications, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Otter Products, Special Aerospace Services, and the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.
  • A reception and dinner at the Denver Botanic Gardens with area industry and business leaders.

The site selectors will participate in a breakfast panel discussion at the conference's final event, Making the Cut: Factors Driving Today's Site Selection Decisions, on Friday, Sept. 18, at the Denver Center for Performing Arts - Seawell Grand Ballroom. More information and registration is available on
