The Rocky Mountain Minority Supplier Development Council (Rocky Mountain MSDC), the leading corporate membership organization in the Rocky Mountain region dedicated to supporting minority enterprise development, is pleased to announce the date for its annual "Business Opportunity Fair." This event is the largest supplier diversity conference in the state of Colorado and will be held at the Colorado Convention center, 700 14th Street in Downtown Denver Wednesday, April 20, 2011. This year's Fair will have a special emphasis on job creation. The event will also include an exhibitor trade show featuring minority suppliers, power breakfast and luncheon, networking reception, power pavilion (including the one-on-one interviews) and a resource row (featuring "Going Green" initiatives). Over 1000 attendees are expected to participate. Among the distinguished presenters, Governor John Hickenlooper will be the keynote speaker at the power luncheon; Mayor Bill Vidal is slated to give the opening remarks during the power breakfast; award-winning journalist Tamara Banks will emcee the luncheon program; and EVP & COO of Qwest Communications, Teresa Taylor, will emcee the power breakfast program. Grammy-nominated pianist Lisa Downing will perform.
Continuing the Rocky Mountain MSDC's push to utilize cutting-edge technology, Cisco Systems will help facilitate the Corporate Roundtable events with its WebEx Connect to allow for discussions with several of its major buyers. In addition, the Rocky Mountain MSDC will continue its monthly strategic Access Opportunity Meetings to create opportunities for its corporate members to meet and discuss opportunities with local MBEs. On the horizon is the annual National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) conference, which will be held in Denver in 2012.
