Colorado Undergraduate Space Research Symposium

An opportunity for students from Colorado's colleges and universities to present their current research and designs to the space industry and academia. This paper and presentation competition allows students to be published in official conference proceedings and compete for cash prizes. Students will also compete for prizes in a poster and demonstration session, and can interact with Aerospace companies during an informal career fair. The seminars will feature industry experts and practitioners who will explain all aspects of the U.S. export control regulations such as the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Participants will be provided with both knowledge about the export control regulations, and the tools they need to comply with them. The Colorado Photonics Industry Association is hosting this event, which summarizes the USA Government's investment strategies and activities in developing technology for any application (such as telescopes, imaging systems, seeker/trackers, high-energy laser systems, solar energy, etc.) which requires optical components. Tech Days covers technology investment efforts in: optical materials; substrate design & manufacture; optical fabrication and metrology technology; optical coatings; wavefront sensing and control via adaptive optics; nano-technology imaging technologies; etc. Tech Days 2010 again includes an SBIR/STTR pre-solicitation workshop.
